Brown Lama Cottage is located 80 minutes from Wellington and allowing gateway access to the South Island without the hustle and bustle of the big city. For those people heading north to Auckland, this offers a good place to break before your onward journey. The Cottage is a 3 min drive to Levin for guests to access groceries or restaurants.
Other things to note
We are less than 5 min drive from the start of the Kohitere Trig walk way. It is a strenuous bush walk. But if you would prefer a gentler stroll than the lake Papaitonga walk is a better option and has spectacular native bush. If you have young children than a visit to the Levin Adventure Park is recommended. Its free and has 90 five-star reviews on Trip Advisor. We are a 10-15 min drive from Owlcatraz Native Bird and Wildlife Park. Also on the must do list for the area is to drive your car along the sand at the waters edge along Waitarere Beach. Best to time this with low-tide though.
