Our beach home "Miles Away" is located in Santa Rosa Beach which is located along a 26-mile stretch of Northwest Florida's famed Emerald Coast. It is one of 16 distinct beach neighborhoods in South Walton County. South Walton County is famous for it's scenic beauty, turquoise waters and sugar sand beaches and labeled by Travel & Leisure Magazine as one of the "Best Beaches on Earth" for families. 'Miles Away' is a quick golf cart or bike ride to the beach, restaurants, or shopping. We are in the laid back neighborhood of Highland Park within Blue Mountain Beach (less than a mile from the beautiful sugar white sands and turquoise water).
Our home offers 4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths and sleeps 11 which makes it comfortable for large groups. On the bottom floor there is a bedroom with built in bunks (a Queen bed and twin. sleeps 3), a half bath, kitchen, and open living/dining area. There is also a deck to sit and relax off the dining/living room and a great fenced-in outdoor entertaining area complete with artificial turf where you can grill, eat, and relax around the fire pit with S'mores.
On the top floor there are 2 bedrooms each with Queen beds which share a large bathroom, complete with a shower/tub combo. There is a master bedroom with a King bed and large bathroom with his/her sinks. The master has a daybed with trundle (2 twins). Extra bedding for the bottom trundle is in the master wardrobe closet if it is needed. The washer/dryer is also located on the top floor.
We are close to amazing restaurants, bakeries, ice cream shops, coffee, and shopping, all accessible by golf cart. Our community has a beautiful pool, hot tub, grilling area, and fire pit where you can wind down after a day at the beach and enjoy time with friends and family. There is also a 360-degree observatory tower where you can climb to the top for stunning views of the gulf.
Enjoy many delicious restaurants and local favorites nearby including: Redfish Taco, Shunk Gulley, Cowgirl Kitchen, Local Catch, and The Perfect Pig. If you are in the mood for oysters or crawfish try Stinky's Fish Camp, They offer oysters 10 different ways.
After dinner, take a golf cart ride for some delicious ice cream!
Area attractions close by include:
*Seaside which has it's own Farmer's Market and known for being the primary filming location for the classic movie "The Truman Show" starring Jim Carrey.
*Watercolor, and Grayton Beach are beautiful areas with lots of amazing restaurants and shopping.
*In the mood to do something active? There are kayak rentals, bike rentals, golfing, and parasailing, You can make a quick drive to Destin, Panama City, Miramar Beach, Pensacola Beach, Alys Beach, Rosemary Beach and see all the Emerald Coast has to offer.
*The Gulley Amphitheater is located close by at Gulf Place and hosts events and musical shows throughout the year.
Our home, 'Miles Away' is named after Miles, our second child who was born in Jacksonville, off the East coast of Florida. From his crystal blue eyes to his love of water, adventure and travel, came the inspiration for the name of our beautiful beach home. With plenty of room to have your own space but yet cozy enough to enjoy visiting with friends and family, we hope you find our home a time to reset and relax and have the feeling of being a million "miles away". HOUSE RULES:
**We regret that service animals cannot be accommodated due to allergies/asthma. No pets/animals permitted. Guests who violate this policy will be charged an additional $500, plus the expense of any necessary steam cleaning or deodorizing. Violations may also result in immediate eviction and forfeiture of monies paid.
**Please be mindful of our cancellation policy. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect yourselves in the case that something unexpected comes up. In the event of a MANDATORY hurricane evacuation, reservations will be refunded and/or prorated based on days used.
**A starter kit of laundry detergent, dishwasher/dish soap, garbage bags, paper towels, toilet paper will be supplied. Toiletries (shampoo/conditioner, lotion, and body wash) will also be there for your use. Please use the provided makeup towels to remove makeup.
**Beach towels are provided
**We can accommodate 3-4 vehicles (depending on size) and one golf cart
**NO smoking permitted inside the home. We ask that if you do smoke, please do so outside and dispose of the buds properly.
**A grill is there for your use. Please clean the grill when you are done using it and wash grill tools so it is ready for the next guest.
**There is a ring doorbell camera there for security purposes.
