This trail has magnificent views all the way to East Cape. Stay a couple of nights or use this as a base to discover some fantastic cycle trails, in and around Opotiki. Only 35 minutes to Whakatane or 15 minutes to Opotiki, this is a great location to get away from it all, but still with the convenience of towns and shopping nearby.
You will have the opportunity to observe birdlife that you may not have encountered before, including godwits, dotterels, oystercatchers, plovers, herons, royal spoonbills and of course weka and tui.
