Living room deck is only 3 metres from high tide of Pataua lagoon, which is great for kayaking and swimming. Beautiful outlook across estuary to unspoiled hills. Walk to Pataua North surf beach (10 min) or Pataua South's Frogtown Beach (15 min), which is very safe swimming. Bach is two-storied with large ground floor living room with comfortable lounge furniture, family dining table, tv, full kitchen.Child's highchair available upon request. Sliding glass doors lead onto a small ground-level deck and grassed area on the water-side. Deck chairs, sun-lounges and market umbrella are available for use outside Ground floor also has a bathroom (with toilet and large, modern shower) and laundry with washing machine and tub. 1st floor has another lounge area, huge deck with its own outdoor table and chairs, the four bedrooms and second shower and toilet. NOTE: Sleeps 8, but max 6 adults as 2 bunks suit children only. House is well away from the road, so there's no traffic noise. On landward side, it has double carport and good area of lawn with rotary clothesline. Bach has 2 kayaks available (a sit-on-top and a sea kayak with rudder and sail), with life jackets. Plenty of room on property to park a boat trailer. Public boat-ramp onto lagoon is approx 150 metres away. Lagoon has marked water-ski lane, which can be viewed from front of bach. Surfboards and wetsuits can be hired at Pataua North beach. Plentiful pipis and cockles are found at low tide a few metres away, in front of the bach. Campground shop, open in high season only (15 min walk) has freshly-baked bread and croissants daily and does some takeaways. Parua Bay shops (8km) include petrol station, Four Square, liquor store, bakery and cafe. Drive from central Whangarei takes about 30 min on sealed road, with wonderful views of Whangarei Harbour and Mt Manaia. The Pines Golf Club at Parua Bay is a lovely course with spectacular views, welcomes visitors with very reasonable green fees. Special conditions: $10 per night discount if you supply your own linen. Total number of people in party using the bach MUST NOT exceed that agreed upon when booking is confirmed. While occasional visitors are expected, no parties nor gatherings of large (15+) groups are to be held by guests at The Greenie. No tents to be pitched, nor additional accommodation in form of caravan or campervan.
