Designed by Christchurch’s premier architect, Heathcote Helmore, this early 1940s home has been extensively renovated and redecorated to be in keeping with Helmore’s Georgian Revival style. The house is filled with a combination of beautiful antiques, paintings sourced from all over France, Colefax and Fowler fabrics, Sofas to sink into, and magazines to read.
The understated luxury and comfort of the home is for those who seek the perfect stay. For many the large, well-appointed kitchen/ family room will be the centre point of the stay. For others, the opportunity to enjoy the book-lined study or the graceful drawing room with an adjoining dining room will be the highlight.
Most of thebeautifully proportioned rooms open to a north-facing garden with mature trees. There is a comfortable fireside seating area and an outdoor table seating up to ten. In summer, the pool area, complete with sun loungers, makes for long sun fun-filled days.
At the end of the day, there are three queen size bedrooms all with elegant bathrooms and a further queen size room, and a double room that shares a shower room and WC.
This elegant home is also pet friendly by request.
