Positive: We stayed for two nights and overall had a good stay. It was generally very quiet, with most of the noise we heard actually coming from a neighbouring property across the drive rather than the hosts, who were very quiet. The private spa was lovely and warm to get into, but there was a downside to that unfortunately. Easy self check in with a PIN, your own designated parking space, nice lighting along the entrance, air conditioning and a comfortable firm bed. There was good storage for bags and coats and an extra pillow in the cupboard. There is also a decent sized TV mounted on the wall, although it seemed like you needed your own streaming service subscription to use it. The room also had a good selection of the basics for two people: two plates, two bowls, two forks, two cups, two teaspoons and two butter knives. There's some blue wine cups as well. One teatowel and dishcloth. There is a covered outdoor area with 2x seats and a bistro table, and a small BBQ. Suitable for one to two people (one bed) for a short stay. It is a cute one room/studio setup and the only indoor cooking appliances are a microwave and jug (standard hobless kitchenette). We were not really able to use the BBQ with the wind coming through, and we also couldn't find any suitable knives for eating/cutting food, such as steak knives. The bathroom was nice and clean. The hosts provided body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap and a hair dryer to use. The mirror has warm or cool lighting options. The shower itself is predominantly a rain shower, but the handheld shower head had almost no water coming through when we tried to change the head, so this may be worth knowing if you don't like rain showers. There were two bath towels provided and one hand towel, but there were no spare towels and we couldn't find a clothes airer or washing line.
Negative: SPA: Our biggest concern was privacy around the spa. There is a security camera covering the front/parking area, which didn't bother us, but we also noticed another exterior camera positioned in the general direction of the private spa/outdoor area. From inside the spa we could see the camera through the privacy screening. We have no way of knowing exactly what its field of view includes and are not suggesting that it records the spa or the hosts have bad intentions, but we couldn't find any disclosure or explanation of the cameras in the listing like other listings have done. Because the spa is advertised as private, we would have appreciated being told that the camera was there and what areas it covers so guests can make an informed decision. The uncertainty did affect how comfortable we felt using the spa during our stay. We put a towel up over the fence, and across the spa panel light just so we felt comfortable enough to be in the spa and relax. KITCHEN: The microwave plug was positioned high enough that I couldn't reach the switch without help, and it had been left switched off. If I had been staying by myself, I wouldn't have been able to use it without finding something to stand on and there's only the bar stools. The hot drink box is taking up a lot of otherwise usable bench space, I'm not sure if there's another spot for it though. You have to prep food on the wood plank attached to the wall by the beds ( not the one under the TV) There is also no welcome book with more stay information. This meant we weren't sure what guests were expected to do with additional rubbish from our food delivery and had to leave it inside until checkout. There were also no instructions for the TV, so we weren't sure whether there were other ways to watch it without having your own streaming service subscriptions. BATHROOM: The hot water took quite a while to come through.
