Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The building is on a dead end street looking out on to a wide estuary /mud flats. It is a peaceful view with nice bird song. I was upstairs, so needed to carry bags up, but the view was lovely from the deck or bed. Small but lovely room with comfortable bed. Functional kitchenette, ground coffee sachets provided and room to tuck bags. Nice bathroom. I met the cleaner twice and she was lovely and helpful with local info. Lots of good short walks to do but need to drive there. Penguin viewing platform is nearby with a cafe next door. They are on tank water so be respectful and wash your hair etc at venues before it after.

Negative: Washing dishes in the bathroom sink is not my favourite in accommodation, but I've stayed in more exclusive resorts where they do the same. Main issue is there is not much insulation to reduce noise from the other 4 units. First night a young child was racing around loudly next door, but fortunately they went to bed early. I could hear conversations from those staying downstairs, and they were not being loud. If they spoke my language, I could probably have followed their conversation. I put on soft music in my room while the child was being noisy. Only loss of stars due to noise issues, it could be really bad with loud guests in other rooms.
