The beautiful Blue Lake, Lake Okareka and Lake Tarawera are all around ten minutes away for a swim or a paddle, while Te Puia's geysers are eight minutes, and the lakefront, the hot pools at Polynesian Spa and Wai Ariki Spa and central Rotorua about nine. Skyline's gondola and luge, Zorb and Canopy Tours are over on the western side of town, around seventeen minutes away.
