Positive: In summary, I felt very comfortable here. I actually wanted to use the space. Stayed in a 6-bedder, room was big and spacious. Under bed no lock / closure but I like that cuz i can access my things a lot more conveniently and has a lot more height and space to store things. Appreciate the small details like spare chairs in the room, a small mirror, the extension cord in the room etc. Showers were bright and good. Restrooms clean. Kitchen very well-equipped and clean. Has fridge and freezer. Great community lounge hall and views. Most importantly, the people who run the place are awesome and welcoming and genuinely want their guests to have a good time in Waitomo. Ask them for recommendations before you book attractions. The guest mix I had while staying 1-night there was also so wonderful and I really had a good night there that I will remember.

Summary: One of my comfiest stays in New Zealand so far - not the beds in particular but the way the place is setup and managed
