Le Cabanon is a purpose built chalet, designed with nature based peace and exclusivity in mind. Nestled under the pohutukawa trees, it is luxurious, eco-sensitive and romantic. Private views of Tryphena Harbour and the setting sun from the spacious deck.
We have furnished the chalet with comfortable, functional and unique furniture.
Nestled in regenerating bush high above Tryphena Harbour, but a three minute drive from the beach, shops, cafe and pub
Birds will greet you, and if you are lucky the seemingly tame and astonishingly dexterous fantails will amuse you while you are relaxing in the giant bean bags on the front deck.
And at the end of the day lie in the comfortable king size bed and watch the vivid night sky through the windows
Le Cabanon has all the facilities you require including a fabulous shower, flush toilet, crisp linen and luxurious towels, cooking and eating equipment including a gas hob and barbeque, tea, coffee and milk.
There is an externally vented gas heater to keep you warm and cozy in winter
A Bluetooth Bose Soundsystem is installed so you can play your favourite music,bring your favourite CD's or listen to your favourite radio station
Explore the beautiful Great Barrier (Aotea) Island or just relax on the deck or in the nearby garden.
A gas barbeque is situated on the front deck - so you can enjoy the views and the sunset as you cook you evening meal
The Cabin is located 500 metres up a steep (at times) track which ensures a private experience. Although some 2 wheel drive vehicles can achieve the drive we recommend 4 wheel drive vehicles. These can be hired on island.
Great Barrier Island (Aotea) is the only Island to be awarded the Dark Sky Sanctuary Status
100 km east of Auckland. 2/3rd's of the Island is conservation park, and it boasts stunning white sand beaches - both surf and safe swimming. Natural hot pools, gorgeous treks of all grades etc etc
Special conditions:
4 wheel drive vehicles are recommended to negotiate the fairly steep driveway. In saying this front wheel drive 2 wheel cars do negotiate it with no trouble.
PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN BEACH TOWELS
As the chalet is off the grid we have to say NO to hairdryers and other high wattage appliances.
If you are wanting a late checkout - do ask - if there are no immediate bookings we will be happy to accommodate you
NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and bbq, and do the dishes before you leave.
